God's peace
Last weekend we had a church camp at a venue on beautiful Lake Macquarie, the largest saltwater lake in the southern hemisphere and more than twice the size of Sydney Harbour. From our lodge the view took in scenes of the lake on a tranquil day.
As we walked on the foreshore the words of Psalm 23 came to mind: “... he leads me beside quiet waters”.
In a turbulent world it is so good to have quiet moments like these.
But God offers us even more than this. He offers us a peace of mind, in spite of what is happening around us.
Philippians 4:6,7: Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (NLT)
God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. It’s ours if we desire to have it.
